Hey there! I’m Cath Hak from Sex Ed Rescue, and I wanted to chat with you about this awesome book called Hello, Baby by Jenni Overend. Now, before we dive in, let me just check the year… Ah, it was first published way back in 1999, so it’s been around for a good 18 years. But trust me, it’s still a gem when it comes to talking about birthing.

Now, this isn’t your typical pregnancy book. It’s actually a heartwarming story about a home birth. It starts off with a lovely family scene, with mom hanging out with the kids, going for a walk. And then, guess what? The midwife shows up! She’s got all the essentials, like a docker (I can’t quite remember what the electric one is called) and some oxygen, just in case the baby needs it.

So, mom comes back from her walk, and she’s warned everyone that she might make some noise as she goes into labor. And then, boom, the head starts coming out, and she says she needs to push. There’s even a picture of a naked woman standing with the baby coming out, and everyone’s gathered around, looking on in awe. And voila, there’s the baby!

The book doesn’t stop there, though. It goes on to talk about feeding and all the other important stuff. It’s a lovely little story that really gives you a glimpse into what birth is all about.

Now, here’s the cool thing. This book is not only great for home birthing, but it can also be used to start conversations if you’re planning to have your baby in a hospital. You can read this book and ask questions like, Where are we having our baby? Oh, at the hospital. What do you think will be different there? It’s a fantastic tool to help you have those important discussions.

All in all, I really quite like this book. It’s a lovely little gem that can provide comfort and insight into the birthing process. I hope this review helps you out. Cheers!
