As your tween begins to go through puberty, it is a good idea to have some books for tweens that will give them more detailed information about love, sex and relationships. In this sexualised world that we live in, your tween is going to hear about sex whether you like it or not. So it is better that they hear about it from you and know that they can come to you with any questions that they may have.
Books come in handy as they provide more information than you could ever possibly share. Plus sometimes tweens are too shy to ask you a question directly, which means that having some books for tweens with age-appropriate information inside it, is a great resource for your tweens to turn to.
This list of books for tweens includes books that are comprehensive and about love, sex and relationships.
You can find more books about different topics in the main list of Sex Education Books for Children. And if you find this list a little overwhelming, you might want to look at the age-appropriate list of sex education books.
You’ll find more information about sex education in my Sex Education 101 page.
NOTE: Before passing any book to your child or reading the book with your child, you should read it yourself first. I might think it is a great book for a certain age child or that the information is valuable, but you may disagree. You need to choose books that reflect your values and the messages you want your child to receive.
