Books ever teen girl should read about sex

teenage girls reading sex education books

There are some lovely books that every teenage girl (or child with a female body) should read about love, sex and relationships.

Because most teenagers are curious about sex. We were as teens, and our parents  (and their parents) were curious too. We turned to books or magazines for our information. But teens today, turn to the internet to satisfy their curiosity.

Which means that instead of finding the right answer to their question, they are finding highly sexualised images and videos (pornography) instead.  Not a good thing!

So often it is better to get in first and to provide your child with the right information so they don’t need to turn to the internet to satisfy their curiosity.  There are some books every teen should read on this topic and they are all in this list.

Most of the books that are marketed as being for girls assume that your child has female reproductive organs – vagina, vulva, uterus etc. So they are not what you would call ‘gender-diverse’.

This is where you will find the sex education books that are written for all teenagers (regardless of gender).

You can find more books about different topics in the main list of Sex Education Books for Children.

And if you find this list a little overwhelming, you might want to look at the age-appropriate list of sex education books.

You’ll find more information about sex education in my Sex Education 101 page.

NOTE: Before passing any book to your child or reading the book with your child, you should read it yourself first. I might think it is a great book for a certain age child or that the information is valuable, but you may disagree. You need to choose books that reflect your values and the messages you want your child to receive.
