Why I created Period Ready
I’m Cath Hakanson – sexual health nurse, educator, and founder of Sex Ed Rescue. When kids started asking questions on my parent videos, I created a YouTube channel just for them. The questions that stayed with me came from scared kids: when will my period start? Is the bleeding something bad? Will I be okay?
That channel’s gone now, but the questions haven’t stopped – on one of my Pinterest pins right now, kids are asking each other those same things in the comments, because they don’t know who else to ask.
Children shouldn’t have to crowdsource period answers from strangers on the internet. They should be able to ask you. So I built Period Ready to prepare your child before the fear sets in – with a built-in question library for everything that comes up later.
