Hey there! Welcome to Sex Ed Rescue with Cath Hak. I’m here to help parents find an easier way to talk to their kids about love, sex, relationships, and growing up. Today, I want to review a book that’s perfect for young children called I Always Try by Janine Sanders. It’s part of the Little Big Chat series, which aims to help kids understand big topics in a simple way.

In this book, we follow the story of Jamie, who teaches us about the importance of having a growth mindset. You know, it’s all about being resilient and persistent. Jamie talks about how learning to walk was tough and involved a lot of falling down, but they never gave up. They kept trying, and that’s what this book is all about.

I Always Try shows kids that when they’re learning something new, like tying their shoelaces or riding a bike, it might take some time and practice. But the key is to never give up and always keep trying. There’s a cool story about Jamie going on a big hike and feeling like giving up because it was hot. But guess what? They didn’t! They took a break, had a drink and a snack, and pushed through. And you know what? They made it to the top!

Sometimes, things can get really tough, and we might feel like throwing in the towel. But this book gives us some great tips on what to say to ourselves in those moments. And you know what? We can do it! We just need to keep trying.

At the end of the book, there are some discussion questions that can help you turn it into a conversation with your little one. It’s not just about reading the book, but also about talking and sharing thoughts.

I hope you find this book helpful. It’s a fantastic little resource that teaches kids the power of perseverance and having a positive mindset. So go ahead, grab a copy, and enjoy the journey of always trying!
