Hey there! I’m Cath Hak, your friendly Sex Ed Rescue guide. Today, I want to share with you a fantastic book that celebrates all types of families. It’s called Mummy and Me by Leslie Newman, with beautiful illustrations by Carol Thompson.

Now, let me tell you why I love this book. You see, we live in a world that’s becoming more inclusive, and it’s so important for children to feel included. Most books about families for little ones usually show a mom and a dad, but not all kids grow up in that kind of family. That’s where Mummy and Me comes in!

This adorable book tells the story of a family with two moms and their toddler. It takes you through their day, from getting picked up by Mummy to enjoying juice together. It’s filled with sweet moments that kids can relate to, like having a bath and going to bed. And it ends with a loving tuck-in and goodnight kiss.

Even if your family is different, like mine with a mom and dad, I still recommend reading this book to your kids. It’s a wonderful way to show them that families come in all shapes and sizes. When they see other families with two moms or two dads, they’ll understand that it’s just another way to be a family.

Books like Mummy and Me are so important because they teach our kids to be inclusive and accepting of differences. They also help them embrace their own uniqueness and appreciate the diversity in the world. Starting these conversations early on sets the foundation for open-mindedness and understanding as they grow older.

So, go ahead and check out this book! It’s a great addition to any library, and I’m sure your little ones will love it. Remember, the more we expose our kids to different family types, the more accepting and compassionate they’ll become. Cheers!
