Hey there! I’m Cath Hak, and welcome to Sex Ed Rescue.

I absolutely love reviewing books because they’re such fantastic tools for parents like us to have better conversations and support our kids.

Sex Ed Rescue is also my website, where I help parents find easier ways to talk to their growing kids.

Today, I want to talk about a book called Queerly Autistic: The Ultimate Guide for LGBTQIA+ Teens on the Spectrum by Aaron Ekins. This book is specifically written for queer autistic teens, making it super inclusive and relevant to their experiences.

One thing I really appreciate about this book is how it’s written in a straightforward and direct way. No beating around the bush here! It’s easy to understand, especially for autistic teens who appreciate clear communication.

The book covers a wide range of topics that are important to queer autistic teens. It starts by explaining what LGBTQIA+ means and helps them figure out their sexuality and attractions. It also has a big section on understanding gender and even addresses coming out and transitioning if they’re considering it.

Relationships and friendships are also discussed, which is crucial for teens navigating their social lives. And of course, there’s a chunk dedicated to sex education, covering different types of sex beyond just the traditional penis and vagina focus.

Finding support is another important aspect covered in the book. It provides resources and guidance on where to seek help. It also addresses the tough stuff like bullying, bigotry, and injustices that queer autistic teens may face.

Now, I want to show you a quick glimpse inside the book. As you can see, it’s packed with lots of written information rather than illustrations or diagrams. But trust me, the content is top-notch!

I was genuinely impressed when I stumbled upon this book. It’s not always easy to find inclusive resources, but this one hits the mark. I believe it will be incredibly helpful for both teens and parents alike.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out. Just shoot me an email, and I’ll be more than happy to help.

I hope you find this review helpful. Take care!
