That’s Me Loving You by Amy Krouse Rosenthal

Book Review

A short overview of this book

That’s Me Loving You by Amy Krouse Rosenthal is a lovely book for younger children about a parent’s love. Love can be a difficult emotion to explain to children, so books like this are a great resource for starting early conversations about the love that is felt in families.

Hey there! I’m Cath Hak, and welcome to Sex Ed Rescue. On my website, Sex Ed Rescue, I help parents find a better and easier way to talk to their kids about sex. One of the ways I do that is by reviewing books that make these conversations much easier to have. Today, I want to talk about a book called That’s Me Loving You by Amy Crowds Rosenfeld.

Lately, I’ve been getting a lot of questions from parents about books for talking about love, so I’ve been on the hunt for them. And let me tell you, there are so many lovely books out there! Some of them even come in board book format, which is great for little ones. The book I’m reviewing today is just one of those gems.

Now, I want to point out that this book does have some diversity. On every page, you’ll see a child of a different color. However, I do want to mention that there’s no representation of disability in this particular book. Just something to keep in mind.

The book is beautifully written in rhyme, making it a joy to read aloud. It talks about love and reassures children that no matter where they are or where they go, their parents’ love will always be with them. It’s a heartwarming message that can really resonate with kids.

Towards the end of the book, it says, That’s me kissing you, that feeling you always have in your heart, that’s me loving you. It’s a simple yet powerful way to express love and affection.

Overall, this book may not explicitly mention love, but it’s a fantastic resource for having conversations about love with your little ones. And the best part is, you can find plenty of books like this at your local library! Just ask the librarians if they have any books for talking to young children about love, and chances are, they’ll have some great options for you.

So, whether you’re looking to talk about love or help your child with separation anxiety as they head off to school, books like That’s Me Loving You can be a real lifesaver. Give it a try and see how it resonates with your child.

I hope you found this review helpful! Remember, there are so many wonderful books out there to help you navigate these important conversations with your kids. Cheers!
