Book Review
A short overview of this book
Bare Reality: 100 Women, Their Breasts, Their Stories by Laura Dodsworth is a book that is filled with non-sexualised colour photographs of breasts that represent the diversity in size, colour and shape of this body part.
This is the only book that I know of, that provides realistic photographs of breasts. And with kids growing up in a world where they compare their bodies to influencers on social media (or pornography), it is important to have resources that will help them to understand that breasts come in different shapes, sizes and colours.
What makes the Laura Dodsworth books different, is that there is a personal story that goes with each photograph, where they share their story or feelings about their breasts.
Now, I wasn’t able to track down a copy of this book to review for the video. I have looked through it many years ago, and I will try and track down a copy for a video review. So click here to head over to Laura Dodsworth’s website, where she has some photographs of the breasts that are included in this book.
You can learn more on this page, about how to talk to kids about sex education.
Ideal Age
