Hey there! I’m Cath Hak from Sex Ed Rescue. Sorry about the glare in the video, but I wanted to talk to you about this awesome book I found called I’ve Got My Period, So What by Clara Henry. Clara is a YouTube star from Sweden, and she’s written this guide specifically for girls who are getting their period.

Now, this book came out in 2015, and it’s part of a trend where bloggers and video bloggers like Clara become super popular and end up writing books about their experiences. I actually heard about Clara’s videos from a well-known English organization, so I decided to give her book a go.

Let me show you the book. It’s quite big and visually appealing. This is the English version, even though my last name is Swedish, I don’t actually speak the language. Anyway, this book covers a whole range of topics related to periods. Just take a look at the index! Clara talks about why she wrote the book, gives an encyclopedia-like explanation of getting your period, and dives into the history, period shaming, sexism, feminism, and even life hacks.

Clara provides a ton of information about what actually happens during your period and why it happens. She also discusses some of the social issues surrounding menstruation and shares current thoughts on the topic. The best part is that she writes about feminism in an open-minded way, which is really refreshing.

Now, I have to say, this book is more suitable for older teens and young adults. I wouldn’t recommend it for twelve or fourteen-year-olds, but for sixteen, eighteen, or even early twenties, it’s perfect. It’s all about self-empowerment and learning about your own body.

So, overall, I think this book is pretty great. It’s informative, empowering, and a fun read. I hope this review helps you out. Cheers!
