Hey there! Welcome to Sex Ed Rescue, where I, Cath Hak, review all sorts of books that help with sex education. Today, we’re diving into Mummy, What’s In Your Tummy by Bernardita Romero. (I hope I pronounced that right!)

Now, this isn’t your typical book about where babies come from. It’s more about the exciting fact that Mummy has something special in her tummy. The book takes you on a fun journey, exploring different silly scenarios until it reveals that a new baby sister is on the way. There’s even a cute picture of the child with their sister at the end.

So, let’s see what’s in Mummy’s tummy, shall we? Could it be a watermelon? That would be hilarious! Or maybe it’s something that jumps around like a little bunny? Nah, it can’t be an elephant. Elephants don’t make noise, do they? Hmm, maybe Mummy’s hiding new toys in there? The book keeps rhyming and presenting all sorts of funny, giggly situations.

This little book is perfect if you’re pregnant and starting to show a baby bump. It’s a great way to start talking to your little one about what’s going to happen when the baby arrives. It playfully asks if there’s a big whale swimming in Mummy’s sleep or a tiny penguin who doesn’t make a peep.

And guess what? I’ve figured it out! It’s Mummy’s baby sister curled up, head to toe. We’ll meet her soon, and I can’t wait to have fun with my new playmate. Now, keep in mind that this story revolves around a little boy getting a little sister, but you can easily change the words to fit your own situation. Not everyone knows the sex of the baby, and that’s totally okay. We often don’t find out until the baby is born or through an ultrasound.

So, this adorable board book offers a slightly different angle for discussing pregnancy with kids. I hope you find it helpful!

Cheers!
