Puberty Chit Chat Cards by Lori Ann Reichel

Book Review

A short overview of this book

Puberty Chit Chat Cards by Lori Ann Reichel are cards that parents or educators can use to start meaningful conversations with their child about puberty and growing up.

The author suggests that you can use these cards in a number of different ways: discussing a few questions per conversation; allowing children to choose questions they are most interested in; and choosing cards randomly. As a parent, these cards can give you ideas for topics to chat about and provide you with a conversation starter.

Ideal Age

Ideal for children aged 8 to 14 years.

Hey there! I’m Cath Hak from Sex Ed Rescue, and I’m here to help you feel more comfortable talking to your kids about puberty, love, sex, relationships, and growing up. Today, I want to share something really cool that I found on Etsy – these awesome cards that can help you start conversations with your child about puberty.

So, these cards are created by author Lori Ann Reichel, and you can now find them on her website too. They come in a cute little bag, which my daughter immediately claimed for herself. Each card has a question on the back, designed to spark discussions about puberty and growing up. If you need more information, it’s always a good idea to talk to a trusted adult.

Let me give you a few examples of the questions on these cards: What’s the most challenging part about getting older? or How can you say no to a person and still keep them as a friend? There’s even a question about deodorant and how to handle body odor. The cards also have page numbers that correspond to a book that Lori Ann has written. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to get my hands on the book yet, but I’ve heard it’s great. It’s a question and answer book that covers the most common questions kids have about puberty.

Now, how can you use these cards? Well, you can start by getting your child some books about puberty and growing up, and then use the cards as conversation starters. Maybe you can bring up the topic of deodorant during dinner or take a walk with your child after school and ask them how they’re finding high school or what they think about growing up. These cards are a helpful tool to get the conversation flowing.

If you’re struggling to find ways to start these important conversations with your child, I really recommend checking out these cards. They can make it a lot easier and more natural. I’ll include the links below for you to explore.

Remember, you’re doing a great job as a parent, and it’s completely normal to feel unsure about how to approach these topics. Just keep the lines of communication open, and your child will appreciate your efforts. Cheers, and best of luck!
