Vegetables in Underwear by Jared Chapman

Book Review

A short overview of this book

Vegetables in Underwear by Jared Chapman is a fun book that you could use for starting conversations about keeping our clothes on. Where you can get the message across without instilling shame.

A common problem that many parents have, is in getting kids to understand that there’s a time and a place for nudity. And that there are times when they need to keep their clothes on. So this book could help with starting conversations about when they need to be clothed, in a fun way.

You could talk about what your family rules are for wearing clothes. And to also start talking about body safety in general.

Hey there! I’m Cath Hak, and welcome to Sex Ed Rescue. I’ve got two things going on here: a YouTube channel where I do a ton of book reviews (I’ve done over 300, maybe even close to 400 by now!) and my website where I help parents find a better way to talk to their kids about love, sex, and relationships.

Let’s talk about a book that’s not exactly a sex education book, but it’s still a great one for having conversations about some important stuff with your little ones. You know how kids can go through that phase where they just want to be naked all the time? It can be a bit tricky to explain to them why they need to keep their clothes on, both for their safety and to fit into society. But I found this awesome book at our local library that tackles this topic in a fun way.

It’s called Vegetables In Underwear by Jared Chapman. The book starts off by showing different types of underwear that we all wear. We’ve got big and small, old and new, dirty and clean underwear. There’s even serious and funny underwear! We explore underwear for big kids and even for babies (or as we say in Australia, nappies for babies).

But here’s the twist: the best part about underwear is that you can wear it anywhere! The book reminds us to always put our clothes on top, of course. It’s a great way to start a conversation with your kids about the importance of wearing clothes and how everyone, even vegetables, wears underwear.

What I love about this book is that it makes sex education fun. It shows us that teaching our kids important lessons doesn’t have to be all serious and boring. We can have a giggle and a laugh while we learn. And that’s exactly what this book does beautifully.

So, if you’re looking for a way to talk to your little ones about keeping their clothes on, Vegetables In Underwear is a fantastic choice. It’s a fun and engaging book that will get the conversation going in a lighthearted way.

I hope this review helps you out. Cheers!
