Hey there! Welcome to Sex Ed Rescue with Cath Hak. This is where I help parents find an easier way to talk to their kids about love, sex, and relationships. One great way to start these conversations is through books. I’ve actually reviewed over 400 books on my website so far, and I’ve been getting some questions from parents about books on love.

So, I thought it’s about time I make some free time to review more books. Today, I want to talk about a book called You Made Me a Mother by Laurenne Sala and illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser. Now, forgive me if I mispronounce their names, I’m not the best at that. But let’s dive into it!

This book is all about celebrating love and the fact that kids grow up. It’s not just for mothers, there’s also a companion book called You Made Me a Father. It starts off by describing how the parent felt when they first learned about the baby, from feeling like a pea, to a lemon, to an eggplant. They followed advice, read books, and ate lots of spinach. Can you believe how nervous they were?

They talk about the different stages of the baby’s growth, and how sometimes they don’t have all the answers and still get nervous. It’s a book that reassures kids that even as they grow up, their parents will always be there for them. The book mentions how much fun they have together and how they wish they could still cuddle them, but even though they’re getting bigger, the love remains.

Now, I’m not sure if this book is more for parents or for kids, but it’s a great way to show your little ones that you’ll always love them, no matter how big they get. And hey, if you’re looking for more books on love, don’t forget about your local public library! They have a ton of these books available for you to borrow and explore. Some you might want to keep for yourselves, while others you can return and find new ones.

I know there are so many books out there, it can be overwhelming. But don’t worry, your friendly librarian is there to help! They know the latest releases and can suggest books on different topics, including love. So, if you have any questions, feel free to ask me. Cheers!
