Hey there! I’m Cath Hak, and welcome to Sex Ed Rescue. On my website, I help parents find an easier way to talk to their kids about sex. Today, I want to share a review of a book that’s perfect for discussing love with young children.

The book is called The Wonderful Things You Will Be by Emily Winfield Martin. Let me tell you, it’s absolutely beautiful! The illustrations are lovely, and the paper feels so nice. I actually borrowed it from the library, but I wish I could have wallpaper like that in my house!

What I really love about this book is how inclusive it is. The illustrations feature children from different ethnic backgrounds, and it’s not overly focused on gender stereotypes. It’s all about growing up and being true to yourself, without putting pressure on having a specific career or anything like that.

The story is about embracing your uniqueness and becoming the person you want to be. It talks about all the different things kids will learn and experience as they grow up, like being nurturing, caring, and kind. It challenges the stereotype that boys are always rough and energetic by showing a boy being gentle and caring with puppies. And there’s even a child wearing a bow tie who’s friends with a little squirrel, breaking down those gender assumptions.

At the end of the book, it emphasizes the importance of using your imagination, having dreams, and thinking about the wonderful world that awaits. There’s a lovely page that suggests kids can be whoever they want to be when they grow up.

Overall, this book is fantastic for discussing love and helping kids feel comfortable in their own skin. It’s all about embracing who they are and being proud of themselves. I hope you find this review helpful!

Take care and bye for now!
