Hey there! I’m Cath Hak, and I’m here to help you with Sex Ed Rescue. It’s my website where I assist parents in finding better ways to talk to their kids about love, sex, relationships, and growing up. Today, I want to tell you about a fantastic book for young children called Giraffe Can’t Dance. But this one is all about love!
The author, Giles Andrae, took the original book, which was a huge hit, and created a board book version as well. It’s a simple and beautiful book that explores the theme of love. It goes like this: I love you like the swaying grass. I love you like the trees. I love you like the sound of branches blowing in the breeze. And it continues with different examples of love. It’s so well-written that it just rolls off the tongue effortlessly.
The book talks about how you may be someone who jumps up in the air or someone who sings and skips and boogies everywhere. It celebrates all the little things that make our hearts sing with joy. And you know what? The best thing it says is, Of all the things I love the most, the very best is you. Isn’t that sweet?
I absolutely adore the illustrations and the simplicity of this book. The rhyming makes it even more enjoyable to read. Books like this are perfect for letting kids know how much we love them and helping them understand that love is a feeling and an emotion. Plus, it’s so engaging that kids will want to read it over and over again.
So, if you’re looking to add a special book to your collection at home or borrow one from the library, I highly recommend considering Giraffe Can’t Dance. It’s a gem! And remember, if you have any questions, just ask me. Cheers!
