Hey there! I’m Cath Hak, also known as Cath Hakanson, and welcome to Sex Ed Rescue. This is where I help parents find an easier way to talk to their kids about love, sex, relationships, and all those important feelings and emotions. Today, I want to tell you about a fantastic book called Lottie’s Big Feelings by Christine Comp.

This book is a delightful way to introduce big feelings into your child’s world. It’s all about keeping children safe and helping them understand love, sex, and relationships as they grow up. And let me tell you, feelings play a huge role in that! This book follows the story of a cute little lamb living on a farm. It’s set in Australia, but don’t worry, it’s filled with farm animals that kids can easily recognize.

Throughout the story, Lottie experiences different emotions, and the book does a great job of labeling and explaining those feelings. For example, when Lottie puts on a hat her aunt made for her, she feels happy. And when she snuggles into bed, she feels love. But there are also moments when Lottie feels sad or worried. The book covers a range of emotions that kids can relate to.

Oh, and here’s a cool bonus: at the back of the book, there are some flash cards that you can pull out to help your child understand and express their feelings. Plus, there’s a picture they can color in and a poster they can put up. It’s all designed to make learning about feelings fun and engaging.

And guess what? This book is just the beginning! There will be more books in this adventurous series, covering topics like recognizing physical body symptoms and early warning signs when feeling excited and safe, as well as talking about safety. So you’ll have even more resources to help your child navigate their emotions.

I hope you find this book as helpful and enjoyable as I did. It’s a great tool for talking to your kids about feelings and helping them recognize and manage their emotions. Cheers!
