Hey there! I’m Cath Hak from Sex Ed Rescue, and I want to tell you about this awesome book I found on Kindle. You see, I used to spend a ton of money on books, but now I can get them instantly on my Kindle without the hassle of shipping them to Australia. Plus, there’s a special deal on the Kindle version of this book!

So, let me tell you about the book. It’s called Messages About Me: Wade’s Story, a Boy’s Quest for a Healthy Body Image. It’s published by a company called Educate and Empower Kids, and they’re all about providing resources for parents on sex education. But what’s really cool is that they also have children’s books on topics that no one else has written about.

Messages About Me is available in both a boy’s version and a girl’s version. It’s all about how we receive and send messages about our bodies in this big world we live in. Wade, the main character, takes us on his personal journey as he navigates through these messages with the help of his friends and family. And guess what? It’s not just a regular book, it’s got conversation starters, a workbook, and even some fun activities!

Now, I wish I could show you all the pictures, but unfortunately, I can’t. But trust me, they’re great! The book starts off by talking about different types of messages, both direct and indirect. We get to know Wade, who loves walking his dog and going to the movies. But then he starts watching movies with guys who have big muscles, and he decides he wants muscles too. So he starts going to the gym with his dad, but ends up missing out on spending time with his dog and feeling a bit down.

The book also touches on peer pressure, how Wade’s friends expect him to do certain things, and how he feels like he has to change himself to be cool. But then something happens at the skate park, and Wade makes a new friend who helps him realize that being true to himself is what really matters.

This book is perfect for kids around 11 or 12 years old, who might be starting to pick up on messages and feel the pressure to fit in. It’s a great tool to read together and start conversations about peer pressure and the importance of staying true to oneself. And at the back of the book, there are discussion questions and activities to further explore these topics.

I personally think this book is a valuable resource for talking to tweens and preteens about the changes they’re going through during puberty. It’s normal for them to want to fit in and follow the crowd, but it’s important to remind them that being themselves is what brings true happiness.

I hope this review helps you understand why I think Messages About Me is such a great tool. I’m really glad I bought it, as I haven’t come across anything quite like it before. It’s definitely going to be a valuable resource for having conversations with my own kids. Cheers!
