If your child regularly uses the internet and has started to talk about wanting an Instagram account, then you will like these books about social media safety for kids.

While most social media sites don’t allow children under the age of 13 to join, this is easily sidestepped by lying about your age. This means that many underage tweens are opening social media accounts with or without their parent’s permission. This is fraught with risk as bullying, trolling, sexting, and grooming by sexual predators are common.

So, if you want your child to stay safe and use social media responsibly, the sooner you start talking to them, the better. Luckily, some great books about social media safety for kids will help start conversations about staying safe online. These books will help you guide your child in using the internet safely and responsibly.

The books in this list are about social media. Books about internet safety, media literacy, pornography and sexting are in separate book lists.

New books for children about social media safety are occasionally being published, so please contact me if you know of a book that should be included in this list.

You can find more children’s books to keep kids safe on the internet + prevent porn exposure, in the main list.
