BABY ON THE WAY by William & Martha Sears

Bodies Babies and Bellybuttons - Sex Education Books for Children

An oldie but a classic that talks about pregnancy and how a baby develops. It doesn't talk about how babies are made and the actual birth process, but gives lots of info on what happens during a pregnancy.
This book is ideal for children aged between 4-8 years of age.

BEING BORN by Sheila Kitzinger & Lennart Nilsson

Bodies Babies and Bellybuttons - Sex Education Books for Children

An oldie that you can't buy new, but I have included it as it has the most amazing in-utero photographs. The perfect book for kids who are really curious about what actually happens to a fetus as it develops. It covers from conception (egg and sperm) to a vaginal birth and breastfeeding. A lovely book!
This book is ideal for children aged between 4-14 years of age.

OUR NEW BABY INSIDE by Mick Manning

Bodies Babies and Bellybuttons - Sex Education Books for Children

Our New Baby Inside by Mick Manning is a lovely 'lift the flap' book for children that explains pregnancy. This book does not talk about sexual intercourse (just the fact that it takes a sperm and egg from the mummy and daddy). The 'lift the flap' show what happens on the inside (the part that you can't see) and talks about what happens to the mummy and the baby as it grows. Birthing talks about vaginal and casearian birth. It is a lovely little book!
This book is ideal for children aged between 4-10 years of age.

THERE'S A HOUSE INSIDE MY MUMMY by Andreae Giles

Bodies Babies and Bellybuttons - Sex Education Books for Children

There's a House inside my Mummy by Giles Andreae is a book for younger children that focuses more on the change that will happen for that child, rather than how a baby develops inside the uterus. So it is great book that you can use to explain to a younger child about the change that will soon be happening in their life. And to help foster some excitement about a new baby.
This book is ideal for children aged between 3-8 years of age.

WHAT'S IN THERE? ALL ABOUT BEFORE YOU WERE BORN by Robie H. Harris

Whats in there - Sex Education Books for Children

This book is just about pregnancy and birthing. It briefly touches on conception in regards to it requires half a cell from a man and half a cell from a woman to make a baby (there is no mention of sexual intercourse). It mainly focuses on pregnancy and what the baby does whilst it grows. If your child has lots of questions about babies, then this is the ideal book to buy.
This book is ideal for younger children between the ages of 3 - 6, and if you DON"T want to talk about sexual intercourse yet.
