child in bed ready to read a book about masturbation

Some of the best children’s books about masturbation (or when children touch themselves)

Children's books about masturbation (or when children touch themselves)  are a useful resource for parents who are wanting to provide their child with some guidance about masturbation

If you are unsure abut how to start this awkward conversation, then you can learn more in this blogpost about how to talk to your child about masturbation. Or in this one about what to do with a child who always has their hands down their pants.

There aren't a lot of books for children that are written about masturbation for children. It is just too risque a subject and most publishers won't touch it (pardon the pun).

You will find two types of books included in this list. The books that talk about the one thing i.e. masturbation. Then there are the books that talk about a lot of things but with a section on masturbation.

Nearly all of the puberty books talk about masturbation as well, but you won't find them in this list (as there are just too many of them to include).

You will only find books in this list that are readily available at bookshops today.

You can find more books about different topics in the main list of Sex Education Books for Children

And if you find this list a little overwhelming, you might want to look at the age-appropriate list of sex education books.

You’ll find more information about sex education in my Sex Education 101 page.

NOTE: Before passing any book to your child or reading the book with your child, you should read it yourself first. I might think it is a great book for a certain age child or that the information is valuable, but you may disagree. You need to choose books that reflect your values and the messages you want your child to receive.
