Here you will find a list of my favourite sex ed books for parents that will help you with getting started with sex ed. Books are a fantastic resource for parents wanting to start sex education, as they are usually a one-stop shop.
You will find a wide range of different sex ed books for parents on this list. Some of the books will talk about sex education in general. Whereas others are more specific and may talk about a particular aspect, like puberty or adolescence. You will also find cards that help with talking and even an app. These sex education resources cover a range of different topics that are relevant to sex education.
All of these sex education books for parents are what I call ‘good resources’ and are ones that I have enjoyed and used myself.
You will only find books in this list that are readily available at bookshops today.
You can find more books about different topics in the main list of Sex Education Books for Children.
And if you find this list a little overwhelming, you might want to look at the age-appropriate list of sex education books.
You’ll find more information about sex education in my Sex Education 101 page.
NOTE: Before passing any book to your child or reading the book with your child, you should read it yourself first. I might think it is a great book for a certain age child or that the information is valuable, but you may disagree. You need to choose books that reflect your values and the messages you want your child to receive.
